High blood pressure is a condition that is more widespread than we would like to believe. And in many cases the fluctuation is so minimal that the symptoms may not seem grave. But even that tiniest fluctuation in your blood pressure can be a sign of a more ominous condition, a heart attack.
During a heart attack, even the mildest one, blood circulation becomes weaker leading to increased blood pressure in certain areas. This happens because the heart is unable to pump the blood at its original rate during a heart attack. Most doctors will tell you that hypertension is a common precursor to a major heart attack. But what they don’t tell you is that hypertension is closely related to high blood pressure.
Does high blood pressure have a close connection with heart attack?
There is actually no hard answer to this, but medical science shows that most often a heart attack is led by a change in the blood pressure. If you are someone who is commonly prone to high blood pressure then you may want to look out for certain additional symptoms such as chest pain, cold sweats, nausea, etc. during the high blood pressure bouts.
Another cause of high blood-pressure based heart attacks is cholesterol. High levels of cholesterol in the body can lead to weakening of the heart, thereby raising the blood pressure. So, someone with cholesterol facing high blood pressure problems should probably get their heart checked.
Awareness is the key
To be on the safer side, anyone with high blood pressure should get themselves tested for heart diseases. Chances are that your high blood pressure is not related to a heart condition; however, since it can act as a precursor it is always better to be knowledgeable about the conditions of your body.
You are recommended to go for health check-up sessions, and you may get your blood pressure and heart condition checked. There are multiple factors that can aggravate your blood pressure and in case it is indeed a heart condition, the earlier it is treated the better your chances of a healthy life.
